PRIVATE FULL DAY NORTHERN BEACHES WITH A CAFÉ LUNCH @The Dunes or Palm Beach Boat House
Sydney is more than The Harbour Bridge and Opera House. To the locals Sydney is about our lifestyle beach culture and outdoor activities. The Northern Beaches encapsulates everything outdoors, magnificent scenery, great lifestyle and of course beautiful beaches. This day is about getting a sense of Sydney lifestyle, enjoy some walks and great views.
8:30am - Meet your Local Eyes Guide at your Hotel and travel North over the Sydney Harbour Bridge to the scenic Northern Beaches.
9.15am – We first stop atop one of Sydney’s best views of Sydney Heads at Dobroyd Headland. We have views across to Manly, the old Quarantine Station and North Head. A short drive and we stop at another aspect of Dobroyd Headland with views straight our Sydney Heads and across to the Eastern suburbs. Truly a great overview of the northern section of Sydney Harbour from this cliff top.
9.45am – Our next stop is a short 12 minute drive to North Head. Here you get to experience Sydney’s famous sandstone cliff faces, learn about our colonial past, maritime history, flora and fauna with links to the Aboriginal culture. We experience views from one the highest sandstone cliffs overlooking Sydney Heads and the harbour. We will spend approximately 30 minutes here.
10.45am – We stop at Shelley beach with views to Manly Beach and up the coast from a famous surf break called “Deadmans”. When you see it working you will know why it is called this. We stop for a morning tea break at “The Boathouse”. This building a great example of Northern Beaches architecture.
11.00am – 11.15am – Morning Tea at The Boathouse
11.15am - We start our journey to Palm Beach off the main drag and along the oceanfront front where we see some of the countries best surf beaches, Curl Curl and popular surf beach for locals, Dee Why.
11.45am - Our next stop is Long Reef headland. It is a 30 minute return walk to the headland and set at the end of a magnificent golf course. Long Reef is nearly half way to Palm Beach and a great vista north and south. We discuss the coastline, surf lifesaving and our surfing links.
12.15pm - We depart Long Reef.
12.45pm – We arrive at Bilgola Beach Headland.
12.45pm – 1.00pm - We get our next great vista with amazing view all the way back to Sydney. Bilgola is 13 beaches up the coast from Manly and looks all the way to the Central Coast.
1.00pm – We continue taking the back roads past some of Sydney’s most exclusive beach houses of Whale Beach and into Palm Beach around the bends. We arrive at Sydney’s most northern suburb and one of the most picturesque beaches in Sydney, Palm Beach.
1.20pm - We stop at Palm Beach for lunch “The Boat House” overlooking Sydney’s second largest tidal waterway, Pittwater. The Boat House is set over the water in one of Sydney’s exclusive ocean suburbs. This is a real treat and great food choices from local fish and chips to delicious healthy salads.
1.30pm -2.45pm – Lunch at Palm Beach Boathouse or The Dunes Restaurant
2.45pm - After lunch we take a walk to Sydney’s most northern and historical lighthouses, Barrenjoey. The walk is of moderate level and takes approximately 30 minutes to climb. The views are totally worth it. The return trip is 1 hour depending on how long you want to spend up there.
4.00pm - We head back to Sydney via Sydney’s most northern sheltered waterway, Pittwater and Broken Bay. The waterway is larger than Sydney Harbour and very picturesque.
We would aim to be back in the city by 5.00pm.

Walk to Barrenjoey Lighthouse. Requires walking shoes and an average level of fitness.
